Hello,

Up for sale is a gently used Index Basic D version 2 Braille printer. Originally purchased in 2001, this printer still works as if it were just bought today. Since I've had it, I have never had to replace parts on the unit. This model requires tractor fed paper with strips on either side. This printer has a Braille and or large print control panel for easy access; I've never gotten it to speak in plain English; not sure why. Included will be the power cord and printer. Note that this printer does not contain a USB connection, but a parallel one. Users who have Win 7, this printer will work fine, just run it through Duxbury; purchase a USB to Parallel adapter. There are currently no drivers for Win 8. Buyer is responsible for shipping; should not be much. Asking $300.00; if interested, ask. This price does not include shipping. I can also include or will include the parallel cable if desired.

Still got it?
I have one question and one offer.
What do you mean you can't get it to speak in plain English?
Please explain.
Offer wise, if you include the parallel cable, and the parallel to USB cable and shipping in the price, you've got a deal.
I'd be willing to give you $350, fifty more then what you're asking to cover the cable and shipping.
Also, I'll pay upon delivery, just for security reasons.
Not to say I don't trust you, but I have to do what I have to do.

I mean, the firmware is too old for it to even speak in English.

then what language do you use it in?

Either Swedish or French. Some things sound like English, though. It's still usable, even though it won't speak English.
